In plain English

We collect what you send us through the contact form, plus standard server logs, and use it to reply to you and keep the site secure. We do not sell your information. At the time of writing, this site does not use advertising or analytics cookies.

01Who we are

Techlonix (“Techlonix”, “we”, “us”) operates techlonix.com. We decide how and why the personal information described in this policy is used, which makes us the “controller” of that information under data protection laws such as the GDPR and UK GDPR.

02Information we collect

Information you give us

When you use our contact form or email us, we receive:

  • your name and email address;
  • the service or area you are interested in;
  • anything you choose to write about your project; and
  • any later correspondence between us.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our web server may record technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, the date and time, and the page that referred you.

When you submit the contact form, the IP address the submission came from is included in the notification email we receive. We use it to help identify spam and abuse.

What we ask you not to send

Please do not put passwords, payment card details, government ID numbers or other sensitive information in the contact form or in an initial email. We will never ask for them that way.

03Cookies and tracking

At the time of writing, this website does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not load third-party tracking scripts. Fonts are served from our own domain rather than a third-party font service.

If we later add analytics or marketing tools, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before they run.

04How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • reply to your enquiry and discuss whether and how we can help;
  • prepare scopes, proposals and quotes you ask for;
  • deliver and manage any project we agree to carry out together;
  • keep the website and our systems secure, and detect spam and abuse; and
  • meet our legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on:

  • taking steps at your request before a contract, when you ask us for a proposal;
  • performing a contract, once we are working together;
  • our legitimate interests in running a secure business and responding to enquiries, balanced against your rights;
  • legal obligation, where the law requires us to keep or disclose information; and
  • your consent, where we ask for it. You can withdraw it at any time.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

05Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes. We may share it with:

  • service providers that help us run the website and our email, such as web hosting and email delivery providers;
  • professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers, where needed;
  • authorities, courts or regulators, where we are legally required to; and
  • a successor business, if we are involved in a merger, sale or reorganisation, with the same protections applying.

Providers act on our instructions and may only use the information to provide their service to us.

06International transfers

Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where data protection law requires it, we take steps to make sure your information remains protected, such as relying on approved contractual safeguards.

07How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need to respond and follow up. If we work together, we keep project information for the duration of the engagement and afterwards for as long as needed for records, accounting and legal purposes. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

If our email delivery ever fails, a copy of your enquiry may be saved on our web server so that it is not lost. We delete that copy once we have received and dealt with your enquiry.

08Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No website or method of transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

09Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, certain uses of your information;
  • ask for your information in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent you have given, at any time; and
  • lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within the time the law requires. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of in that respect.

10Children

This website is intended for businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our website or the law changes. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
